Should you buy 'designer' things for your baby?

If you're a regular reader of this blog you'll know I often post about pricy products. I like well designed things and don't see why you shouldn't splash out on yourself or your baby once in a while. However I'm definitely not into designer gear for the sake of it being 'designer'. Alex and Alexa is chocablock with designer childrens' wear, some of it very nice. Yet I wanted to pick out a couple of items that demonstrate when you might have taken things a bit too far. The Roberto Cavalli Bottle Holder, above, and the Chloe Changing Bag, below, aren't only obviously branded and ludicrously expensive but they're also downright ugly. Whilst I wouldn't tell other people how to spend their own money I wouldn't want to aspire to owning these products, as you can buy way more beautiful things for far less cash. Having a changing bag with a designer label emblazoned on the front isn't enviable - having a happy family is.
