One of the loveliest things about babies and toddlers is their peachy, delicate skin so if you're taking one on holiday you'll want to protect it as much as possible. This poncho from Cuddle Dry offers UV protection at Sun Factor 50+ so can be kept on your baby after you've dried her off.
Baby will also need a good sunscreen. We were kindly given a tube of Green People Organic No Scent Children's Sun Lotion SPF25 to try out. Our tester found it to be soft and moisturising and easily absorbed on her baby's body. She liked the fact is is waterproof and although the cap was slightly tricky to get off the bonus was she knew there'd be no sunscreen squirting in her bag! Although this sunscreen isn't cheap at £15.95 for 150ml, or a well known, trusted brand the organic, natural ingredients were definitely a bonus and our tester felt very confident putting this on her baby's sensitive skin. This extremely gentle lotion also contains Aloe Vera, Calendula and Chamomile to sooth skin and reduce inflammation. You have to be sure to apply it 30 minutes before going into the sun. If you like things smelly this also comes with natural lavender oils.
“You can be my wing man any time!” This baby's wearing the same kind of sunglasses as Tom Cruise in Top Gun! selectspecs.com now sells Raybans in children and adult sizes. These Cebe Kanga glasses use Melanine lenses which filter out 100% UV rays and 98% blue light. They're £23.24 and suitable for 1-3 year olds.
Be safe and have fun in the sun!
